EC-CS war bisher bei vielen SAP-Kunden immer noch im Einsatz gewesen und hat sich als stabil und mit einem ausgewogenem Funktionsumfang bewährt.
Jedoch SAP hat neulich offiziell bestätigt, dass die Nutzungsrechte für EC-CS nur noch bis 2027 gewährt werden. Diese Frist gilt für alle Kunden, die bereits auf S/4HANA umgestiegen sind und EC-CS in diesem Umfeld weiterhin einsetzen.
Für Unternehmen, die noch nicht auf S/4HANA migriert haben, läuft die Nutzung von EC-CS jedoch bereits zum 31.12.2025 endgültig aus. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt ist der Einsatz von EC-CS in SAP-Systemen nicht mehr zulässig (Hinweis:2371973).
Kunden sollten deshalb zeitnah ihre Handlungsoptionen prüfen und die Migration auf S/4HANA mit einer geeigneten Konsolidierungslösung (z.B. SAP Group Reporting) vorbereiten.
Für Kunden, die sich noch auf SAP ERP 6.0 befinden und den Umstieg auf SAP S/4HANA planen, ergeben sich durch die obige Beschränkung des Nutzungsrechts ebenfalls Fragen. Generell ist aber das EC-CS im Kontext von ERP 6.0. bis 2027 in der Wartung (bzw. erweitert bis 2030). (Hinweis 1223308)

Customers on SAP ERP still have time to make the changeover. However, one thing is already clear: continuing to use EC-CS as part of the conversion to S/4HANA is not an option. Even if Group Reporting is not an option for these customers, SAP offers alternative options. These include BCS/4HANA or BPC on BW/4HANA, each with promised maintenance until 2040, as well as Group Reporting.
